Black History Month Career Webinar
How Can Children Aspire to Careers They Don’t Know Exist?

Career webinars put students in direct contact with career professionals and practitioners, encouraging career exploration and iteration – not show and tell, but ask and answer. Local professionals from various career pathways will engage in a facilitated discussion for twenty minutes, followed by the students asking questions through the moderator for the final ten minutes. Students will see and hear these working experts while personally engaging with them.

We believe the career webinars are already making a big difference by opening eyes and minds to the real opportunities that exist beyond school. Perhaps most importantly, by connecting exciting career options to learning, class work becomes more valuable, reinforcing the idea that school is a path to something that can be fun and rewarding.

This month, the webinars will focus on career pathways that are lacking Black professionals, such as healthcare (February 2nd), law (February 9th), architecture (February 16th), and technology (February 23rd).
